Type 1 hair is the straightest hair type. It lies flat on your scalp, has no natural curl, and displays a smooth texture. This hair type is further divided into three categories: 1a, 1b, and 1c. Type 1a is the finest with a silky texture. Type 1b has medium texture, more body, and may have a slight wave. Type 1c is coarsest and thick.
